About Kim, RDH, Career Coach

With over 10 years of experience as a dental hygienist and 8 years as a clinical educator in a dental hygiene program, my journey in this field has been both diverse and deeply rewarding. Initially, my background was in business, but I soon realized that my true passion lay outside the confines of a 9-5 job. Discovering my excitement for helping people led me to make a drastic change to become a dental hygienist. I graduated near the top of my class in both academics and clinical skills, but despite this achievement, I still faced significant challenges as I began my new career.

Upon entering private practice, I was confronted with unexpected feelings of doubt. Leaving the close-knit circle of my classmates and amazing instructors, I suddenly felt isolated and alone in my operatory. This experience, along with similar feelings I have observed in others, highlighted a significant unmet need for mentoring in our profession.

Driven by my passion for helping others, I am committed to ensuring that newly graduated hygienists have a clear and confident path forward. My goal is to set them up for success, no matter which direction they choose to follow in their careers. No one should have to experience the imposter syndrome I felt when starting out, and I strive to provide the support and guidance needed to prevent that from happening

Being able to connect with my patients, students, and mentees is truly one of my favorite aspects of my job. Empowering people with the knowledge and ability to succeed in both their careers and overall well-being is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.

Outside of helping others succeed, I am a wife and mom of 2 amazing humans and 2 doodles.  I live for my morning workouts, followed by every possible baked good.

My career has allowed me the flexibility to build my own schedule and be fully present in my family's life, and I want to help you do the same. I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your maximum potential.

The main focus of BloomRDH is to create a support for the newly graduated hygienist as they enter into the workforce. I love to help bridge the gap from the tight-knit feeling you felt while in school to the isolated feeling you may experience as you enter clinical practice.  Leaving  the sorority-like feel of your classmates and the one-on-one direct supervision from your instructors,  can leave hygienists feeling alone and anxious in an operatory of their own. It is my joy to help set you up with the tools needed to be confident and strong as you begin your journey into dentistry,  especially those who lacked previous dental office experience prior to their hygiene career. I would love to hear more about your career dreams, let's connect!
